There were sirens in Cerrado in historical theather

In December 2024, There Were Sirens in Cerrado made its long-awaited debut in the very city where it was filmed – Brasília – at the historic Cine Brasília. This poignant screening marked a significant moment, bringing the film full circle to its roots.

Cine Brasília, one of the city's cultural landmarks, survived the military dictatorship, remaining a vital space for film screenings over the years. As the last neighborhood theater in the capital, it preserves the memory and history of cinema in Brazil, with a seating capacity of 424. Premiering There Were Sirens in Cerrado at this iconic venue was a great honor, a return to the heart of the film's story. Although the premiere took place in Brasília, I participated remotely, connected through my phone, while I was in New York.
